Setting Up Camp At #43
Nature Galore At Lake Wateree!
We kept track of all the animals that we saw and came up with an impressive list. The Raccoon was elusive (which was fine) but the squirrels were almost a little too friendly. It was spring so we saw our fair share of migratory birds as well. I was instantly transported back in time when I heard the Whip-poor-will calling, a sound I hadn’t heard since we lived in North Carolina when I was a kid.

The Dutchman Creek Marina – This little store sits just outside the park and offers many camping and fishing supplies. If you want a night off from cooking, the restaurant is highly recommended!

Silke and I took advantage of the laundry and public library in Great Fall during our week long stay. If you want to get away from it all for a while or just spend a relaxing weekend away, we highly recommend what this SC state park has to offer.
