Cabins and camping set on 2,587 acres of beautiful forested land await you in Eva, Tennessee.

We wanted to get out and enjoy the weather. It would have been easy to take advantage of the nice sunny day by doing some outside cleaning or landscaping but why should it be all work and no play? Not too far from where we live is the Nathan Bedford Forrest State Park. With over 25 miles of hiking trails we were up for an outing that would get us out of the house and moving once again.

The park offers Fishing, Hiking, a Nature Center, Swimming, and various planned programs.

NBFSP Roots

Silke and I both enjoy photography and there was plenty of scenery to shoot.

NBFSP Monument

Even the interpretive center was decked out for Christmas!

NBFSP Nativity

Nativity scene outside the museum.

NBFSP Gandolph Stick

I found this really cool ‘Gandalf’ like walking stick. It was left behind for others to enjoy! :)

Safety Zone NBFSP

The Safety Zone was in full force.

NBFSP TN state park View

We were rewarded with a beautiful view of Kentucky Lake once we reached the museum. Two eagles (sorry, no camera shot, we were too slow) were soaring over head. It was quite an amazing sight for them to fly so close by us.

This is just one of the many State Parks that you will find in Tennessee. We plan to find our way around to many more in the future.
