Golf tournament at Hardwood Hills Gold Course.

What to do on a cold, rainy and windy day in Minnesota? You win the 9th Annual Jackass Golf Tournament.

Nick, Silke, Mark and Ryan started out with breakfast and cocktails at the ‘The Boot’ in Forada, MN and then played 2 rounds of 9 holes at the Hardwoods Hill Golf Course in Alexandria, MN. This golf facility is nestled in the beautiful countryside, right between Lake Mary and Lake Lobster. I’ve been told it’s a fairly challenging golf course for beginners and avid golfers alike.

The course originally opened in 2001 under the name “East Mill Nine Golf Course. In 2022, Toby and Sarah took over the par 35 course continuing to improve and expand the course. Hit a bucket of golf balls on the driving range, or join friends for beverages and a burger in the clubhouse.

The Jackass Golf Tournament was an absolute blast!

The winners of the 2011 Jackass Golf Tournament are: Mark Kluver, Nick Jager, Ryan (can’t remember his last name) and Silke Jager. Although the weather was crap, we were able to keep warm and hydrated. A friendly staff member came around with the drink wagon on a regular basis.

Each year Hardwood Hills Golf entertains numerous private groups and organizations. Regardless of the size of the group or the reason for your golf event, their staff works diligently to make your golf outing a success. Their daily rates for 9 Holes is $16.50 and for 18 Holes is $23.00 – See the rest of their Golfing Rates.

If you find yourself in the central part of Minnesota with some free time on your hands, be sure to check out Hardwood Hills Golf. Or, at least take a drive through the countryside, it is very pretty, especially during the summer and fall seasons.

If you’re flying in and out of MSP airport, you might as well check out the

Steel Toe Brewery in St. Louis Park, MN, as well. It’s a great family owned brewery.

  1. Wow, you guys look like you had a fun time. Who’s the ringer on your team? Do you ever come to the cities to play?

    1. Silke was the ringer. We had the advantage of having the only team with a girl on it. This proved useful of the harder fairways. Everyone had their ‘moment’, so it was a group effort. Lots of fun was had by all. We usually stay around the central part of the state. Where are you referring to?

      Nick
