Blue Horse Market In Whispering Pines NC
The Blue Horse Market has something for everyone.
We are a little over half way through our current house sitting job here in the Southeast part of North Carolina. The home we are house sitting is located right next to a small, serene swimming lake, no gas motors allowed, with a walk out deck, a little inflatable paddle boat and a lovely vegetable garden.
Nick and I have been eating sweet grape tomatoes right from the vine and taking photos of colorful birds through the kitchen window and while on walks around the neighborhood.
Lovely colorful deck chairs
This area is very peaceful with the sweet smell of pine in the air! It is close to one of the country’s major military installations (Fort Bragg) and Pine Hurst, host of the historic US Open championships.
Just a few miles down the road from where we are house sitting in NC is a quaint shop called the Blue Horse Market.
The Blue Horse Market
This unique store is part of an old corner building located at 3196 Vass Carthage Rd, Whispering Pines in North Carolina. One side of the building is used to assemble neighborhood food boxes and on the other side you will find delectable treats.
The Blue Horse Market offers homemade ice cream, farm fresh eggs and a variety of seasonal vegetables, an assortment of tantalizingly crafted beers, savory wines with monthly wine tastings, and locally hand made craft items.
Did we mention that they have an espresso bar, and offer cookies and sandwiches? We went with our favorite Vanilla Latte every time we visited and we were not disappointed. Jeff sure knows how to make our best-loved hot cup of Joe. While visiting the Blue Horse Market you will probably want to take a load off and catch up on some reading or internet browsing via their free Wi-Fi. Yesterday afternoon we did just that.
We found ourselves in the Blue Horse Market on a dark and rainy day, it would have otherwise been considered a bust for going on one of our sight seeing adventures. Instead we found ourselves nestled in among the locals to wait out the heavy rain, and enjoyed the ambiance and friendliness that the Blue Horse Market provides.
Inside The Blue Horse Market
Got the kids with? Don’t let that stop you. A section of the store has been set up especially for them, they have a miniature store area complete with a cash register and a pint size table with games.
You can spend quite some time browsing the numerous hand crafted items, antique furniture and unique gifts that are strategically located throughout the store.
If you ever find yourself in this part of North Carolina on vacation or during a business trip, check out the Blue Horse Market and tell Jeff that Nick and Silke said ‘Hi!’.

If you’re in the area be sure to stop by on Thursday! :)

We had a great time at the wine tasting last night. Nick spent a good amount of time talking to the beer guy, I think he going to write about an article about his new brew soon. :)
