  1. We had a good time on Longboat Key attending a wedding. We stayed in less luxurious accommodations, but there were numerous large herons that accompanied us on our walks on the beach, hoping we would fish and provide them with the catch. The reception was at the Botanic Gardens, and it sprinkled just before the ceremony, raising the humidity to 100%. We strolled the gardens while waiting for the rain delay to be lifted for the ceremony. A good time was had by all. There was a lot to do in the area even way back in 1985. BTW, they are still married!

    1. Dennis,

Thanks for stopping by! They say that if it rains on your wedding day you’ll be in the money (don’t quote me on that). It sounds like a nice place to have a wedding.

It seems like there’s a little something for everyone in Florida. ;)

  2. My wife and I got to enjoy this area when we spent a week in Sarasota, Florida, a couple of years ago. Beautiful scenery and lots of attractions to visit.

    Very relaxing!
