Review of The Mouse Ledge, an extended platform for your laptop.

Sometimes you don’t know what you’re missing until you hold it in your hands. That’s how I felt when I first received the mouse ledge in the mail last week.

Ray, the creator of the mouse ledge, has developed over 50 other products; the Bottle Cutter and the Padestal eTablet Stand, which are all great high-quality items.  It looks like the laptop mouse ledge is no exception! Made in the US from non-porous materials means its sturdy and easy to sanitize.

The Mouse Ledge Assembly Instructions:

Step 1 – Remove the thumb screw assembly from the plastic bag and screw into the lever handle.

Step 2 – Attach the mouse ledge to either side of your laptop. Turn knob clockwise to tighten and counter-clockwise to loosen. Do not over-tighten to avoid breakage. For assistance, go to MouseLedge.com or call 847-477-3863.

The Mouse Ledge takes a little bit getting used to, if you’ve never had one before, but it is really a great tool for all you fellow bloggers and writers that like to spend time working outdoors or on the go. I certainly do!

The ledge is big enough for a regular sized mouse! The platform surface of the mouse ledge gives you a work area of 5 inches wide by 6 inches long. There’s plenty of room for mouse movement.

Once you used the mouse ledge for a few minutes you will not leave the house with out it. You will make room for it in your laptop bag. I guarantee it!

There is one minor design flaw I would like to mention in my mouse ledge review.

If you use the Mouse Ledge on a wooden surface, like a counter, picnic table or table top, be careful or you might end up with some scratches. See the picture below… we will have to use a little wood filler to make our counter good as new again.

The problem is the bottom clamp doesn’t have rounded corners or a protective cover. A strip of tape is probably all that’s needed to keep the edge from scratching wood surfaces. This is an easy fix and I’m sure Ray the creator of the mouse ledge will rectify this problem in no time.

The mouse ledge is a great tool, I can’t believe I didn’t buy one sooner. It saves my hand from cramping up when I’m working outdoors, since I don’t have to use the laptop mouse pad any more. The laptop mouse ledge looks great, is easy to assemble, cleans easily and doesn’t use up too much space.

I think for only $29.95 (Amazon offers free shipping) this is a great buy. This mouse ledge would also make a wonderful gift for anyone using a laptop on the go.
