End result
As always, the crab cakes turned out deliciously moist and flavorful. If you’re having trouble getting your crab cakes to stick together, place them in the refrigerator for an hour or so to cool. The egg and bread help as a binder, but if your mixture gets a little too dry, you can add a few more drops of lemon juice or a little more mustard.
We complimented this healthy crab cake meal with french-fries sprinkled with seasoned salt, green leaf lettuce drizzled with home made Balsamic Vinaigrette and a glass of crisp white wine. This offered just the right balance to the sweet and slightly spicy crab cakes.
If you’re planning a nice evening dinner for two and don’t want to spend a lot of time in your kitchen, then this delicious crab cake meal will work out perfectly for you. If you’re feeding a family of four or more, simply double the recipe ingredients.

Isn’t cayenne pepper the same a red pepper? You call for both in your simple crab cake recipe.
Hi Annette, You are absolutely correct, cayenne and red pepper are the same! The red pepper in this recipe is supposed to be paprika. I am very sorry for the mistake and have updated the recipe. Thank you for noticing and bringing it to my attention. – Silke
