Broccoli Cheese Bake is a deliciously creamy and cheesy dish.
This super easy recipe is perfect for a family dinner or get together. We have been making this easy Broccoli dish for several years now. It goes very well as a side dish and is so popular in our extended family, we get requests to make this puff pastry topped broccoli cheese bake every Thanksgiving and Christmas. You can make this broccoli bake as a side dish or vegetarian dinner.
Adding small pieces of Canadian bacon or cooked chicken breast will turn this broccoli cheese bake into a delicious main dish. We have substituted cauliflower for the broccoli before and it turned out excellent as well. This is a very versatile dish!
Recipe for Broccoli Cheese Bake:
Prep time: 10 min. – Total time to the table: 40 min. – Scroll down for step by step pictures..
- 1 – 8 oz. tub of Chive & Onion cream cheese spread
- 1 – 10 3/4 oz. condensed Cream of Mushroom soup
- 1/2 – cup of water
- 2 – 16 oz. pkg. of frozen, thawed and drained, Broccoli florets
- 6 – oz. cooked meat (optional)
- 1 – cup of shredded Cheddar cheese
- 1 – thawed frozen puff pastry sheet (we recommend Pepperidge Farm)
- 1 – egg, lightly beaten
Preheat your oven to 400 degrees.
Mix together your cream cheese, water and soup until they are blended.
Stir in broccoli, cheddar cheese and cubed meat.
Spoon into a 3 quart baking dish.
Unroll the thawed puff pastry and carefully place over the broccoli mixture.
Cover the dish completely and press the edges against the rim of your dish to seal.
Brush the surface with the egg and pierce with a knife to create vent holes.
Bake for 30 mins. or until heated through and the pastry is puffed and golden brown.
