Healthy Homemade Pizza Ingredients:

  • Ready Made Pizza Dough – available in Gluten Free
  • Canned or Fresh Tomatoes
  • Parmesan Cheese
  • Freshly Ground Black Pepper
  • Ham Slices
  • Grilled Chicken
  • Mushrooms
  • Onions
  • Banana Peppers
  • Shredded Low Fat Cheese
  • Red Pepper Flakes
  • Or Any Other Of Your Favorite Pizza Toppings

Baking Directions:

Pre-Heat the oven to 400 degrees.

Grease a cooking pan or special pizza stone for the dough. A cooking spray is easiest and works the best or drizzle on some Extra Virgin Olive Oil and spread it around with a paper towel or simply use your fingers, its good for the skin.

Spread the pizza dough evenly across the pan building up ridges on the edges. If you use a pizza stone, create a round pizza by using a rolling pin or working the dough with your hands. Avoid putting holes in the dough by working it gently.

Layer pizza topping. We’ve selected some of our own personal favorites for this recipe, but you can add your own toppings. The key is to spread each topping out evenly so that your toppings are distributed for every slice to taste the same. Choosing only 3 – 5 toppings are best, otherwise your pizza might end up burned on the outside and still doughy on the inside.

Bake your pizza.  It doesn’t take long to bake a pizza, depending on how many layers you’ve added. Usually about 15 minutes in a 450 degree oven should turn your pizza golden brown.

For two people, a regular sized baking pan is plenty of food for the evening. Having a little left over makes for a nice snack after work or a light lunch the next day.

Home made pizza is the BEST!

If you use frozen pizza dough it’s best to let the dough thaw out completely and rest on the counter for about an hour before you begin. We made the mistake of taking the dough out of the freezer a short time before we started baking it and we could definitely taste the difference.

Of course, if you use a pre-made dry pizza dough mix, you don’t have that problem. You do want to let the gluten free pizza dough mixture rest by following the instructions on the package.
