Our Next Adventure Is Avon
It’s official, our next adventure is Avon, not the little town in North Carolina, but the products.
Since returning back to Tennessee Nick and I have been wondering “What’s next?”. Being middle-aged, with a love for traveling on a spur moment, we couldn’t quite get our heads around finding regular 9-5 jobs. Don’t get me wrong, we both enjoy working and staying busy, but not sitting in a cubicle answering phones or driving a fork lift in a warehouse all day. So we have been looking for opportunities elsewhere. After many discussions, and lots of half-baked ideas, we finally decided to give Avon a shot. If you didn’t already know I have curated a shoe & beauty blog since 2009, so this seems like a natural progression. Avon has been in business for over 130 years now!
Very impressive! I remember my Mom sharing the little sample lip sticks with me growing up in Germany. Yes, they’re still available in case you’re wondering. The company is going through some changes, read about Avon’s 3-Year Transformation Plan, and now calls themselves New Avon. The following statement is from their company website…
“New Avon’s product portfolio includes award-winning skincare, color cosmetics, fragrance and personal care products, featuring iconic brands such as ANEW, Avon Color, mark., and Skin So Soft, as well as fashion and accessories. As far as I can tell so far, Avon has very strong building blocks in place.
They include iconic and purpose driven beauty brands, innovative products, leadership positions in key International markets and beauty categories. I can also confirm that Avon has created an amazing website filled with teaching tools called AvonU for the sole purpose of training and guiding their sales representatives. The set up and personalizing of my own eStore was very simple and straight forward. It’s simply a matter of clicking on an icon and adding text or picking a module. Voila! I had my very own store set up in under an hour.

Exciting Health & Wellness News
Being an Avon consultant has been a lot of fun so far. I’ve already met a bunch of new people, placed my first money, (and made a nice commission), learned a ton about selling products and created a business plan. As if that isn’t enough, it gets better! Avon is coming out with their very own health & wellness products in January.

The Espira line of products has been created by Avon working with leading industry nutrition experts. Nick and I watched a webinar on this the other night and one of our fellow consultant, I don’t remember her name now, left the following comment: “I showed the Espira ingredient lists to several of my Pharmacist friends and they were all very impressed with it.”
