Little Lily’s Crunchy Peanut Puppy Treats

DIY dog treat recipe that Lily our Silky Terrier loves.

We make a batch of these super easy to make peanut butter puppy treats about once a month. It only takes a few minutes to stir in the four basic ingredients. Most of us have these ingredients on hand any given day. So there is no running all over town, looking for all these weird food items your dog can’t taste anyway.

There are only 4 ingredients needed to make our ‘Crunchy Peanut Puppy Treats‘.

Ingredients For Crunchy Peanut Puppy Treats

  • 2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1 cups of Crunchy Peanut Butter
  • 1 cup of milk
  • 1 Tbsp baking powder

Pre-heat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Mix the flour and baking power in one bowl and the peanut butter and milk in another bowl. Blend both mixtures together.

I started out using a mixing spoon, but ended up using my hands to knead the dough, it’s much easier.

Add a little bit of flour to your work area.

Roll out the dough, about 1/4 inch thick. Use your favorite cookie cutters, I used a heart and tree shape, and cut out the treats.

Place the peanut puppy treats on a cookie sheet and put in the oven. Bake until golden brown.

Flip the peanut butter treats over and bake for an additional 8 minutes or until golden brown.

I’m certain your pooch will love these easy to make, homemade dog treats as well. Store your puppy treats in an air tight container or plastic baggies for when you’re on the go. Keep larger quantities in the freezer.

Not only are these dog treats easy to make, but they will save you money in the long run. Furthermore, you will sleep easy knowing exactly what’s in the food you’re feeding your favorite furry friend.

Using a pizza cutter or just rolling the dough into little lumps, is a great idea to save time. The treats will taste equally delicious to your pup no matter what shape they’re in.
