Stovetop Rice Pudding Recipe

Usually when I make stir-fry or any other dish with white rice as a side, I end up with too much rice. This easy home made Rice Pudding Recipe is fairly quick to make and super delicious.

Recipe for Stovetop Rice Pudding by Jager Foods:

Prep time: 25 min. – Total time to the table: 45 min.
3/4 cup uncooked or 1 1/2 cups cooked rice
2 cups milk
1/3 cup white sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
1 egg
2/3 cup golden raisins (optional)
1 Tbs. butter
1/2 tsp. vanilla extract

Add uncooked rice to medium saucepan filled with 1 1/2 cups of water and bring to a boil. Stir and reduce heat, cover and simmer for 20 mins.

In medium saucepan, combine cooked rice, 1 1/2 cups of the milk, sugar and salt. Cook over medium heat until thick and creamy, stir occassionally, for 14 – 20 mins. Stir in remaining 1/2 cup milk, beaten egg and raisins. Cook 2 more mins., stirring constantly. Remove from heat and stir in butter and vanilla.

Pour Rice Pudding in serving dish or individual bowls. Serve warm and enjoy!
