Four Pounds of Wings and a Pitcher

We totally went out of our way for dinner last night and drove 30 miles one way for Sheila’s famous Chicken Wings.

Last week our friend Mark told us about this best kept secret in the heart of Minnesota. When he said “How ’bout some wings and beer?”, we didn’t know the treat we were in for. This little hole in the wall place is located in Rose City, and no, it doesn’t come up on any GPS. So bring your map along to get there.

bbq chicken wings reviewThe Wednesday night special is four pounds of Chicken Wings and a pitcher of beer for $11.95. You will have a choice of 4 flavors; plain, bbq, hot sauce or sweet and sour. The place is so busy on Wednesday nights that it takes about 45 minutes per order, so we ordered two different flavors at the same time. We’re taking 8 pounds of wingies for four people. Yikes!

Our choice was bbq and plain with sauces on the side. We had just finished our second pitcher of beer when the waitress arrived with two huge plastic bowls. The bbq wings were floating in delicious Rose City BBQ and let us tell you, “They were truly finger licking good!” Luckily every table has at least 2 or 3 rolls of paper towels on them.

We found the whole experience very enjoyable and highly recommend this place. It was well worth the drive.
