Weekend DIY Bedroom Makeover

Silke and I thought it would be best to celebrate the anniversary of living in our home for a year by finally re-doing our bedroom.

We went from a cake yellow ceiling to floor bedroom to a three tone natural looking room. After much debating we decided on earthy green tones, an Alabaster ceiling with Cricket Green walls and Aligator Skin Dark Green accents.

At the same time we took off the window frames and discovered that there was no insulation between the sheet rock and windows. Thank goodness for Wonder Stuff, a bit messy but it should do the trick. We always felt a draft and we should notice a big difference next winter.

To complete the project we found a new bedroom ensemble. The colors match perfectly with the walls and pulled the whole room together. What do you think? Like it or hate it?

Project List: 1 gallon & 1 quart  of Behr Cricket Green paint, leftover Alabaster paint from a previous project, 1 quart of Behr Aligator Dark Green paint, a 14 in 1 tool, 2 cans of Wonder Stuff, a splatter roller, a regular roller, a paint brush and 2 rolls of painting tape plus a 14 piece bedroom ensemble.
